The Future of Fresh Water: An Acceleration of Salt Water and Diminshing Fresh Water Resources

As salt water intrusion along the coast increasesmunicipalities from Palm Beach County to the southern tip of Miami-Dade County, continue to abandon wells that for decades have provided fresh drinking water.

This exhibit examines the effect of salt water intrusion upon the Biscayne Aquifer, which provides the region with the majority of its water used for drinking and irrigation.
